Overview

The August Derleth Society is a non-profit organization formed in the late 1970’s to actively preserve the rich memory of Wisconsin’s greatest and most prolific author. Our goal is to encourage the study of August Derleth’s work and to preserve the memory of this compelling American writer, publisher, editor, columnist, environmentalist and teacher.

We are dedicated to republishing many of Derleth’s beloved titles as both physical books and ebooks, as we are witnessing a strong resurgence in reader interest.

As his loyal following and worldwide readership continue to grow, the ADS remains committed to its purpose of connecting with readers of all ages and promoting the best aspects of Derleth’s singular personality, gentle manner, and brilliant mind.

Recently, August Derleth Center opened to the public.  This Center, located in Derleth’s beloved “Sac Prairie” boasts a treasure-trove of his books and memorabilia.
